Epic History: Following the Legend of Yoshitsune’s Northern Journey Course

Course Overview
This course traces the legends of the warrior Minamoto no Yoshitsune (1159–1189).
It is said that when Yoshitsune visited this area, he prayed for maritime safety and lasting success in battle at Unotori Shrine after seeing a golden cormorant believed to be a sacred bird raising its young.
Because his prayers were fulfilled, it is believed that Yoshitsune enshrined Unotori Daimyojin at the mountain summit.
